We're thrilled to introduce Rowan, the newest voice on Dwell, reading the Christian Standard Bible (CSB).
Meet Rowan
Rowan serves as the Senior Pastor of Auckland Evangelical Church in New Zealand. He is passionate about seeing people captivated by Christ, grounded in the gospel and growing in maturity and number.
He says, “Recording the CSB for Dwell was especially meaningful because I got to do it alongside my son, who also reads a large section of the International Children's Bible. Watching him bring his own gifts and love for God’s Word into the project was one of the real joys of this whole experience. The process was deeply encouraging—reading slowly, carefully, prayerfully, letting God’s Word soak in. My hope is that as people listen, they won't hear my voice, but the voice of the true and living God, who has spoken to us through his Son to convict us of sin, encourage us in the faith, and fix our eyes on His Kingdom until his glorious return.”

A New Approach
To bring Rowan's reading of the complete CSB to you, we used a thoughtful blend of original recordings and text-to-speech (TTS) technology.
We began with extensive recordings of Rowan reading the CSB, capturing not just his voice but his heart for God's Word. TTS studio tools then helped us expand these foundational recordings across the entire biblical text, allowing us to produce a full translation of the Bible faster than ever before—while preserving Rowan’s authentic voice and pastoral presence throughout.
